Some of you may or may not know, Jeff's ( founder of Turbotrix ) wife Tracy had been fighting Stage IV breat cancer for eight years now. She unfortunately lost her battle on Friday Feb. 20, 2009. Tracy was one of those people that left a lasting impression. She was the strongest person I know and battled cancer like no one I have ever known.

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Tracy Pleva Hill, age 41 years, of Flemington, NJ, passed from this life on Friday, February 20, 2009, wrapped in the loving arms of her family after an eight-year warrior's battle with breast cancer.

Tracy is survived by her loving husband, Jeff and adored son, Jason; her parents, Joyce and Ted Pleva of Somers, NY; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Liza and Mark Donoghue of Wappingers Falls, NY, Katie and Matt Wineman of Woodbine, MD, and Jamie Pleva of Somers, NY; her grandmother, Geraldine Maday; her mother-in-law, Peggy Hill of Greensboro, NC; and a sister-in-law, Cindy and husband Wendell Roth of Greensboro, NC.

She was a loving aunt to Lily and Rowan Donoghue, Jack and Nathan Wineman, and Pete and Alexis Roth.

She was pre-deceased by her father-in-law, William Alfred Hill.

Tracy was an advocate for the Young Survival Coalition (YSC), an organization dedicated to young women with breast cancer. Tracy was featured in two of their videos, "Fighting For Our Future" and "The Beautiful Eight".

Tracy deeply touched all who knew her with her wit, beauty, and inspirational spirit. Her one desire was to do the Chicken Dance with Jason on his wedding day.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be Monday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Please visit www.holcombefisher.com for further information or to send condolences.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen Tracy in quite a while and this news came as a shock to me.

Many condolences to everyone (especially of course Jeff and Jason) for losing such an amazing person. She'll be missed by a lot of people, and was always loved by everyone who met her.

A great person has fallen.

(I posted this on NABR as well...)

I come back to this post thinking about what else I could say about Tracy to express how wonderful of a person she was, but I just can't find the words. Tracy was one of "those" people, like Hal said, a truly good person.

A classic story that will always stick in my head happened about 6 or 7 years ago. It was Jason's 3rd birthday and Jeff and Tracy were having a birthday party for him. Well, Nate (Pharr) asked us (French, Keith and myself) to pick him up a gift for Jason. We did of course... a nice pink ballerina kit, complete with tutu, etc. Nate, of course didn't know WHAT we got, because we had it gift wrapped before he could see it.

Well, present time comes and poor Jason opens it up. We all know what's coming and we're about falling off the deck with laughter. It was one of those times where you're laughing so hard, you think you're going to puke. Jason's face was one of pure confusion. The poor 3 year old couldn't understand why he was getting it. At first Tracy was laughing too, and then she saw her son's face and that laughter instantly turned to anger! Oh man, the look that she gave us was priceless. I'll never forget it!

She was a phenomenal mother. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for Jason. The cancer was just a small obstacle that got in the way of her daily life. It was a nuisance. Tracy went about her day doing everything that a normal woman did, except she had to deal with this fucking cancer. She fought it, and fought it, and fought it. You hear stories about people who fought to the very end and she was one of these people. She didn't give up. Her body might have, but her mind and soul sure as hell didn't.

Keith,
Please pass my condolences onto Jeff.

I met her one time for a brief moment. I think it was at E-Town but I am not certain. French and I were cracking on each other a little bit and she came in out of no where with a crack on French and left the scene just as fast she had entered it. If you weren't there it is probably meaningless but it is something I remember as if it happened yesterday. Godspeed.

Having seen this terrific woman many times at the track supporting Jeff in his racing, I will surely miss seeing her at the track this season. Her courage and zest for life was a true inspiration to all who met her.

RIP.

My condolences to Jeff and his son and the rest of the family.
