So you blow your motor and you have a high dollar evo 9 and finding an evo 9 block is harder and also more expensive. Here is what you do :-)

I got the 27/64ths Bit which is going to be very tight with the tap, and just so you know yes it is a M12x1.25 tap, I got mine for 8.00 at Napa, They also call it a spark plug tap sometimes. Will keep you posted. My only question is when drilling and such how do i keep the metal shaving out of my nice clean and built block. I am thinking of of course drilling slow and letting it clean out allot and drilling it upside down so the shavings fall down.

First Evo 8 block 2.3L stroker.

27/64th Drill bit

M12x1.25 Tap (also known as spark plug tap)

Some tape to make off depths on items

Drill

First I took the old 9 block and measured how deep I needed to drill and check how far it needs to be tapped. YA YA check out the nice hole in the block.

Put a mark on the drill bit and tap and then drilled and tapped it.

I did it with the block on its side in the air so all the metal would just fall out of it and none would go into the block passages. Then after it was drilled and cleaned with pipe cleaners and such I taped it in the same position and then cleaned again. The bolt fits fine a little loser than the old block but with some lock tight and what not, it will be perfect. If you have any questions and what not let me know this is a 2.3L block and also its going to have a 35R on it and I have 272 280 HKS cams. Will let you know how things turn out as I get all the parts and get it all back together very soon like in the next week or so.
