I recently broke (on purpose this time) my 80gb video iPod because for the um-teenth time it locked up.

So I went out and got a 120gb Zune (cheaper than iPod) and couldn't be happier. Not only does it accept 4x the formats, has a larger screen, built in radio, longer battery life and IR Zune to Zune file sharing. Only down side is there is virtually no aftermarket support.

I'll never put up with that stupid scroll wheel that never stops when you remove your thumb or moves right before you click the center, again!

Which would you choose?

When I buy a CD I archive it, and because I'm lazy I've been archiving to WMA lossless for a long time.

As a result, when I went shopping for a digital player I wanted something that I wouldn't have to re-encode for, and had decent storage. I wish the 120gb had been out, but I settled for the Zune80.

It's annoying that there aren't more accessories as far as cases/chargers/car adapters, but there are some and honestly, how many choices do you need (ugh, i'm starting to sound like an apple person http://images.bloviate.net/emoticons/riaat.gif).

It's been pretty good to me, even taking a fall from my tankbag to the ground when i was out for a ride last summer. http://images.bloviate.net/emoticons/rofl.gif

I've had my 30gig iPod for almost three years. Battery is toast, and it will not stay alive unless it is plugged into a power source. I hear about alot of people having similar battery issues. My next device probably won't be an Apple.

I have never used the Zune products, maybe I should take a look.

I got a 30gig Zune about 6 months ago, its been great. I don't like having to use their software instead of just drag/drop but besides that, its been very easy to use.

I have a 60gig iPod video that stays plugged into my alpine steero in my car... that is all I use it for unless I go to the boat... no problems with it, and I have dropped it about 20 times....

I have been having a ton of issues with my ipod. The battery only lasts half as long as it used to and the screen has lines across it. I have been looking into picking up a zune. How easy is it to move all my songs from itunes to whatever the zune uses?

Anything you purchased from iTunes is DRM format, so you're fucked there.

Not quite. If you can find a DRM unpacking utility, you can change the format, but it is a time consuming task
